Working with me

I specialize in helping helpers – because as a medical professional or caregiver you’re wonderful at caring for others but get caught in the trap of being too busy to care for yourself. You put the needs of others above your own and get lost trying to re-establish balance. I am also passionate about helping those grieving. Despite recognizing the natural process of grief, it can feel confusing, isolating, shocking and overwhelming to navigate the wide range of emotions. At times, these two intersect when caregivers become bereaved and it can feel impossible to navigate life moving forward.

Caregivers are not always the best “care receivers” and navigating grief in a complex world can feel crushing. Lets change that together by establishing a new balance and/or finding ways to honour and navigate your grief.

Humans are driven for connection. I aim to provide you a safe space where we can develop a secure connection and help you evolve through life’s difficulties. In our work together, I will help you learn more about yourself and guide you towards developing tools and strategies that foster resilience.

I do not believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Rather, I find it important to get an understanding of the various areas within my clients’ life and how they interconnect. My practice is trauma-competent and prioritizes client-centered care. Emphasis is placed on getting to know my clients for who they are, meeting them where they are and providing them with a safe and inclusive space to share their authentic selves.

I draw from relational theory, attachment theory, Psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness practices, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), parts work, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), among others.

A little bit about me...

I have my own unique connection to grief, and I understand there is no “cure” but that we evolve and learn how to integrate it into our lives. I don’t expect you to automatically trust me but hope through time I can earn your trust and help bring you closer to living the life you desire.

I have unique experience working with medical students, in addition to healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, etc). and the complexities that those environments can present.

In my spare time you can usually find me cooking, baking, making textured abstract art pieces, or cuddling on the couch with my dog.
